Andreia Inamorato dos Santos

Andreia is Research Fellow at the European Commission's Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS) based in Seville, Spain. Currently, her research focuses on the accreditation of informal and non-formal learning, open education and open educational resources (OER). She studies strategies for higher education institutions to become open education institutions (OpenEdu Project, OpenCred and OpenCases).

Andreia holds a PhD from the Open University of the United Kingdom, in the field of Educational Technology. In the United Kingdom, she was Research Fellow on OER at the Open University (2006-2011) for the OpenLearn and OLnet projects.

As a consultant at DigiLearn (2011-2013) in Brazil, she advised a number of OER initiatives and universities nationally and internationally, and gave public talks on open education and OER to a diversified audience which included global enterprises and governments.

Andreia has published several reports, research papers and book chapters about open education and OER, one of which was a national report on OER in Brazil published by UNESCO IITE (2011). At present, she is the honorary national OER coordinator of the Brazilian Association of Distance Education (ABED).
